One of the topics LEED addresses is Materials & Resources (MR):

MR Credit 4: Recycled Content
  • Approximately 89% (by weight) our insulated panels consists of the exterior and interior metal faces. The metal faces and trim flashings are fabricated from coil and flat sheet that are produced using the Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) process. The pre-consumer recycled content averages 6% and the post-consumer recycled content averages 22%.

  • Approximately 11% (by weight) of our insulated panels consists of the insulating foam core. The total pre-consumer and post-consumer recycled content averages 25%.

Pre-Consumer Content:

Recycled content diverted from the waste stream during the manufacturing process.

Post-Consumer Content:

Recycled content generated by households or by commercial, industrial and institutional facilities in their role as end-users of the product, which can no longer be used for its intended purpose.
